About M&S Plant Hire
M&S Plant Hire was established over 30 years ago and has in it's time expanded from providing Plant Hire to now also offering a wide range of Agricultural Contracting services, Grit Blasting/Paint Spraying as well as selling it's own produce in the form of hay, haylage, silage, straw etc.
Company History
Colin Martyn began M&S Plant Hire in the early 1980's around the time Roadford Reservoir was built. At this time the business was primarily plant hire and they were heavily involved with the construction of the reservoir as well as many other contracts.
In 1992 Colins son, Darren joined the business and M&S Plant Hire became Martyn and Son as it is today. Over the years as well as providing plant hire the business has expanded into providing a larger range of agricultural contracting services etc.
In the mid 90's the grit blasting and paint spraying division of the business was added with a purpose made spray booth built at their premises.
Using the knowledge and expertise that have been gained over the many years of contracting and farming, in the late 90's the business started to sell it's own high quality produce particularly to the equine market. This part of the business has grown quickly over the years and now accounts for a large part of their turnover.
